What level is right for me?

Whatever your personal needs are we can confidently

say that 10 Minute Core Strength™ will help you achieve

them because the medical reality is that your core stability

is the key to all physical activity.

Even if you are active and fit we recommend that you start with the Beginners Mat DVD program because it teaches you the basic techniques that are the basis of all the more advanced ones.

It is a good idea to stay on this program for 4-8 weeks before

you move on to the Advanced Mat DVD. Once you know the correct techniques these routines take hardly any time and the ideal way to go is to use this in an ongoing way to keep strong and injury free.

Once you have mastered the Beginners program you can get yourself an exercise ball for variety and incorporate the Ball Exercise DVD program as a further challenge.

Each DVD includes a series of carefully designed exercises and stretches that gradually build your core muscles one step at a time. These give you clear instructions on how to perform the workouts, how long to hold each posture and how many repetitions to do.

If you do have an injury or you are unsure about your level of fitness, please contact your health professional for advice.

Initially these exercises feel different to conventional exercise in that they require focus rather than sweat and will never leave you out of breath. Fairly soon however you will learn the sensation of controlling and working your deep core muscles and discover that this feels fantastic as your strength grows.

Improve your posture and prevent back and neck injuries

If you have ever had an injury you will know that a lack of core stability affects literally every aspect of your life. These muscles wrap around the spine and control its action and are your insurance policy against injury. They also keep your vertebrae in the correct place when you bend to lift and twist to hit a ball as in golf.

Strengthening these muscles also improves your posture which can free you from chronic pain and give you the vital easy movement of a younger person. As we get older stiffness in the vertebrae, reduction in disc thickness and weakened core stability can mean that the vertebrae can no longer move and be properly supported in the way they need to for maximum strength. When this happens you become vulnerable to back injury. Flexibility can be improved but if you want to avoid re injury you need to progress your core strength at the same rate as this is what keeps the natural curve of your spine in place.

So whether you want to hit a golf ball further, hit the walking track more often or hit your computer keys in greater comfort core stability will help you.

The benefits of improved core stability are very wide ranging.

  • Protection from spinal injury through more effective positioning of the vertebrae.
  • Better ability to pursue any other sport or physical recreation activity that you love.
  • Resistance to injury from sudden strain or impact
  • Ability to lift correctly and with more confidence
  • Better balance.
  • Greater power in exercises involving dynamic twisting such as golf, tennis and cricket.
  • Improved posture which eliminates some types of chronic back and neck discomfort.
  • If you are middle aged or over improved core stability will give you the gait and movement of a younger person.
  • Ability to be more comfortable when sitting and standing for long periods.

What all these things come down to is a zest and enjoyment of the physical side of life and isn’t that what we live for?
