Why did we design this program?

This series of DVD’s was born from the needs of the people we see in our practice every day.

While it is our job to help them recover from injuries we were also interested in preventing these in the long term. Along the way we realised that many people had difficulty following written instructions and their compliance was not all that it should be.

Since we could not find any existing visual materials that were exactly what we wanted we decided to produce some ourselves aided by our client feedback.

Before we started we studied the latest medical and physiological research on this area and developed our system around this. Some of these exercises have been around for some time but no one had put them all together in an easy to follow system. We also discovered that the best result was obtained when the exercises isolated and worked each muscle group separately working from the deepest to the most superficial. We also designed our routines to have gradually increasing degrees of difficulty.

The combination of our knowledge of injuries and Tanya's sports and patient experience has allowed us to create programs to suit virtually everyone.

Total wellbeing is a triangle made up of physical, nutritional and emotional wellbeing. As health practitioners we often see that these are interrelated in real life. 10 Minute Core Strength™ forms part of the physical section of this triangle and the long term vision for True Balance is to ultimately produce programs and strategies for all of these centres.

All it takes is 10 minutes a day!
Why 10 Minute Core Strength™ is different to other programs in that it hardly takes any time. Once you have mastered the techniques you can do it in as little as 10 minutes a day. This program gives similar benefits to Pilates but without the down sides of fees, set class times, travel and an ongoing need for supervision. While Pilates does work well for some people we need to remember it was designed over 100 years ago and generally requires personal supervision to avoid injury, especially if you have had one. We now know more about how core stability works and this new knowledge is reflected in the 10 Minute Core Strength™ program.
